SCUBA Hair

When I SCUBA dive is the ultimate test on my hair. The mask and fine, thin hair don’t mix. We call it the mullae (mullet for girls). Our hair will break around your face and the back from the strap from the rubber skirt of the SCUBA mask. So some secrets that I have figured out to help with dreading and breaking strands are putting my hair in 2 french braids as SunBum 3 in 1 Leave-In Hair Conditioning Treatment ($11). I also like putting my hair in a ponytail with multiple hair ties at a different point to keep it from dreading if the braids don’t work for you. I use hair ties with no metal. One of my favorites is Teleties pack 3 ($10).

I love them because they are easy to use, they don’t break your hair, they donate Global Lyme Alliance, and they have awesome colors!!

Hair…Shampoo, Conditioner, and Treatment

I had short hair most of my life, when I moved to the Bahamas, I wasn’t able to cut my hair regularly. So I grew out my hair, which now I like. It makes it easy to pull it back out of my face when I’m running or on the boat fishing. But when you have long hair it makes it difficult to keep it healthy and happy. The sun and salt make consistently cause it to break. I use a couple of different things to help maintain a long healthy mane. I use ORIBE Gold Lust Repair & Restore Shampoo and ORIBE Gold Lust Repair & Restore Conditioner  I know it’s expensive, but it’s more expensive to constantly be cutting your hair! It really keeps my hair soft and thicker.

I try to wash my hair every other day unless I’m getting in the ocean. I wash my hair normally with the shampoo. Then when I use the conditioner, I make sure that let it sit in my hair for 2 minutes or so. I try to be water cautious and shave my legs while it sets in, so I take advantage of the water running.

I have really thin hair that can easily be tangled this conditioner helps but also ALTERNA BAMBOO Smooth Pure Kendi Oil Pure Treatment Oil help keep my hair from split ends. I use to use a brush, but I switched to a wide tooth comb, so it doesn’t tear through my hair. The one I like is Mason Pearson Rake Comb

Enjoy your healthy hair!
